ABSTRACT
Emergency service medical records of the patients admitting to the emergency service of Eskişehir Military Hospital between January 1 and December 31, 2007 were examined retrospectively. Complaints, histories, physical examination results, diagnosis and treatment of the patients were recorded from the medical records of the hospital. Patients with diagnoses of pulmonary origin were detected, and procedures performed and details such as group of pulmonary disease were recorded. In conclusion our findings showed that patients associated with the specialist of chest diseases usually admit to the emergency service in winter season, and emergency service admittance of patients with chronic respiratory diseases decreases with regular visits. Physicians of emergency service should consider pulmonary diseases in the differential diagnosis due to the specific nature of these diseases in order not to experience mortal consequences.
