ABSTRACT

The relationships between the health of the gingiva and different prosthetic materials have been investigated for many years. In this study; the effect of 62 crowns fabricated from five different materials on the gingival tissues were examined carefully on 50 patients (23 males, 27 females), GI; PI; and SBI were applied in 7 th, 15th, 90 th, 180 th, and 365 th days and the results were statistically evaluated. Among the dental materials used, the full gold and the metal (precious)- porcelain crowns were found out to be the most compatible with periodontal tissues. However we have concluded that the other dental materials usual in our study, in which we advised an effective oral hygiene program to the patients, research can also be used safely.
