ABSTRACT
It has been reported that psychopathologies are more common in patients with asthma than in the general population. It has been suggested that the relationship between asthma and psychological factors may be complex. It has been determined that brain has a role of in modulating various components of asthmatic response. Pharmachological treatment of psychiatric diseases in asthmatics may improve the quality of life in these patients. There has not yet been adequate evidence about the role of psychological therapeutic interventions in asthma. Larger, well-conducted and randomized trials are required in this area.
