ABSTRACT
In this study, the ratios of cyts, hemangiomas and metastases in patients with and without malignancy were aimed to be determined evaluating nonspecific contrasted hypodens liver lesions in dynamic liver computed tomography as a cohort group. Lesions were grouped on the basis of segmental location and whether there was primary malignity comparing the sonographic and biopsy findings of 122 lesions in 55 patients. In 22 patients with the history of malignity only 40% of lesions were metastases, and cyst, hemangioma and focal hepatosteatosis were detected in 35%, 22% and 3% of these patients, respectively. If nonspecific hypodens hepatic lesions are detected on dynamic liver computed tomography in patients with a history of malignancy, ultrasonography and/or magnetic resonance imaging should be performed, and biopsy should be made if necessary, in revealing the nature of lesions.
