ABSTRACT

The Kartagener syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bronchiectasis, sinusitis, situs inversus. Primary ciliary dyskinesia is condition with a prevalance of 1 in 20000 live births and fifty percent of primary ciliary dyskinesia is Kartagener’s Syndrome. Kartegener syndrome; may be accompanied with cardiac abnormalities such as ventricular septal defect (VSD) and atrial septal defect (ASD) in addition to dextrocardia. In this article, as addition to above-mentioned abnormalities, existence of two different cardiac problems together at the same time is reviewed with clinical, radiological and echocardiographyic characteristics by means of taking the literature into consideration.
