ABSTRACT
Introduction:
Leiomyomas which is the most common pelvic neoplazm can be symptomatic with pelvic pain, menorrhagia, complications of pressure, recurrent miscarriages and infertility. Ultrasonography, sonohisterography and hysteroscopy can be used in the diagnosis of submucous myomas which grow into the uterine cavity. Moreover myomectomy can be performed with hysteroscopy in the same session.
Case Report:
An office hysteroscopy procedure, which was applied to a forty year old, virgin, menometrorrhagic patient who has had a vaginal bleeding for three months has been presented.
Result:
In the diagnosis and treatment of submucous leiomyomas which is in the 24.8% of cases with premenopausal abnormal uterine bleeding, hysteroscopy has an important place as an effective and safe procedure. Recently hysteroscopy has been accepted as the "Gold standard technique" because of its successful results and usage convenience in the evaluation of intrauterine lesions.
