ABSTRACT

The patient was admitted to our service with the complaints of headache, bruit on his head and decreased vision in his left eye. All symptoms had appeared after having a motor vehicle accident. Congestion and tortuosity of episcleral and conjunctival vessels, and proptosis were evident. Fundus examination was normal except for mild disc pallor. Left superior ophthalmic vein was dilated and tortuos at the computed tomography scan of orbit. Arterialized blood flow and dilatation of superior ophthalmic vein were observed in color Doppler ultrasonographic examination. Left caroticocavernous fistula was confirmed with cerebral angiography. The fistula was occluded with detachable balloon embolization.
