ABSTRACT

Metoclopramide is a dopamine receptor antagonist and frequently used as an antiemetic drug. Acute dystonia is a rare side effect developing especially in children and young adults within the 1st-3rd days of metoclopramide treatment. In this article a pediatric case followed up with the diagnosis of acute dystonia developing due to metoclopramide is presented, and it is emphasized that metoclopramide side effect should be considered in children presenting with acute dystonia.
