ABSTRACT
Morgagni hernia, which constitutes 5% of congenital diaphragmatic hernias is usually asymptomatic. Most of the serious complications related with Morgagni hernia, which is considered as a relatively benign disorder, may be prevented by early diagnosis and surgical correction. In patients with diaphragmatic hernias, general anesthesia should be performed cautiously because of the presence of complications associated with high intraabdominal pressure. The aim of this case report is to present the anesthetic approach in a pediatric patient who was diagnosed to have Morgagni hernia with the aid of chest x-ray, and performed surgical correction by transabdominal approach.
