ABSTRACT

Chronic pyelonephritis or reflux nephropathy secondary to vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) can lead to serious complications such as hypertension, proteinuria and chronic renal failure. Herein we present a sixteen-month-old boy with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) secondary to chronic pyelonephritis and emphasize the importance of VUR in recurrent urinary tract infections and NDI a rare complication of chronic pyelonephritis.
