Tuberculosis is one of the most common causes of exudative pleural effusions. Incidence of tuberculosis pleurisy is generally linked to local prevalence of tuberculosis. Tuberculosis pleurisy is a disease of middle age/old age in developed countries, while it is a disease of young age in underdeveloped or developing countries. Despite all examinations, there are cases that could not be diagnosed or late diagnosed. In most of the cases, tuberculosis pleurisy resolves spontaneously within months, however parenchymal diseases develops in most of these patients in future. Thus, it is obligatory to diagnose and to treat tuberculosis pleurisy.
