Hypokalemic periodic paralysis occurs depending on primary and secondary etiologies. The most common cause of the secondary etiologies is thyrotoxicosis. Periodic flaccid paralysis of skeletal muscle occurring in a thyrotoxic patient, an unusual and dramatic event, is seen predominantly in Oriental men. It is important to remember this clinical association between periodic paralysis and thyrotoxicosis.

In this paper, seven cases, who had been previously diagnosed and treated as hyperthyroidism, who were admitted to our clinic with the complaint of weakness for the first time, and who were diagnosed as thyrotoxic hypokalemic periodic paralysis by excluding other causes of secondary etiologies were discussed regarding clinical and laboratory findings in the light of the literature. paralysis.
