Naso-alveolar molding has brought a new insight into the orthopedic treatment before surgery, and reduced both nasal deformity and cleft line in alveolar bone. The aim of this study was to present the results of nasoalveolar molding treatment performed as a presurgical approach in 5 newborns who were admitted with unilateral cleft lip-palate to our clinics. The approximation of alveoli, lip and nose permits the surgeon who will perform the closing operation to achieve a more successful and assumable surgical result. Pre-surgical nasoalveolar molding with reducing cleft lines allows a successful primary closing of lip segments in the first lip closing operation that will be performed.
