Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is a common viral infectious agent causing chickenpox in childhood. Herpes zoster is a latent infection that affects the dorsal root ganglion cells after primary VZV infection. Herpes zoster is usually seen in immunocompromised children. We present two immunocompetent children with herpes zoster responding oral acyclovir treatment.
