This study is a cross-sectional and descriptive study carried out to determine the effects of late pregnancy on sleep quality. The sample of the study consisted of 200 pregnant women, who had admitted to GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Pregnant Outpatient Clinic and who had been eligible for participation in the study. The data in the study have been collected by making use of the pregnant woman Information Form and Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).

53% of the pregnant women participated in the study was university graduates, and 65% of them were housewives. The average age of pregnant women was 28.9±4.45, the average length of marriage was 5.37±4.20, the average number of pregnancies was 1.78±0.74, the average number of births was 0.59±0.63. It was also found that 11.5% of pregnant women had sleep problem before pregnancy. Sleep problems, daytime sleepiness, decreased sleep duration was reported to be the most in third trimester of pregnancy. Third trimester PSQI score was 7.11±3.55 of the pregnant women. PSQI scores of the pregnant women who had suffered from sleep problems before pregnancy was found significantly high. PSQI scores were determined 5 and higher average rate of 72% of pregnant women. Logistic regression analysis determined that fatigue, frequent urination and reflux, were significantly related to sleep problem in third trimester of pregnancy. As a result of this study, it was determined that the late pregnancy process has a negative impact on the quality of sleep.
