Between January 2001 to June 2002 we prospectively examined 40 consecutive patients with congestive heart failure in our cardiology clinic. Patients with a history of recent myocardial infarction or symptomatic ischemia were excluded. Cardiac troponin T, CK - MB, myoglobine were measured using an immunoassay method. The severity of heart failure was evaluated by determining the New York Heart Association functional class. Ventricular function was _______________________________________________ (*) GATA Kardiyoloji AD. (**) GATA Acil Tıp AD. The control group consisted of 7 men and 3 women. With regard to troponin T level the results were significantly different between patients' and control group. The results of the assays in the control group were within the normal range. Patients group troponin-T mean value was 0.518 ± 2.717 ng/ml. Control groups level was 0.015 ± 0.001 ng/ml. In the patients group, CK - MB mean value was 2,17 ± 2,37 ng/ml, control group level was 0,08 ± 0,55 ng/ml. Patients group mean myoglobin level was 49,20 ± 32,29 ng/ml, in the control group level was 29,80 ± 11,41 ng/ml. The ejection fraction mean value was 30 ± 7% in patients group and 65 ± 5% in control group.
