Many difficulties are encountered in the treatment of tibia plateau fractures. The main purpose of our study was to evaluate the role of artroscopy in these types of fractures and mid-term results of our cases. We evaluated eight patients with tibia plateau fracture, in whom osteosynthesis with canulated screw was performed under the control of artroscopy. The mean age was 25 (20-34), and mean follow-up period was 30 months (16-40). Types of fractures were Schatzker type 1 in six cases, and type 2 in two cases. Resnic-Niwoyama criteria were used in radiologic evaluation. Functional results were evaluated according to the Rasmussen criteria. Results were found to be excellent in five cases, and good in three cases. Radiologic results were excellent in six cases, and good in two cases. By arthroscopy assistance, joint surface integrity can be fully observed, and at the same time, any additional pathology in the joint can be treated. Functional results are satisfactory and morbidity is less than open surgical and conservative techniques due to early postoperative mobilization.
