A 24-year-old Breast Cancer Patient : The Role of Preoperative US in the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Evaluation

Twenty four-year old patient with self diagnosed breast mass underwent exicional biopsy and had the pathologic diagnosis of infiltrative ductal adenocarcinoma. Conservative breast surgery was planned but preoperative breast ultrasonography demonstrated a second nonpalpabl lesion which had not been seen by mammography before and the patient underwent radical mastectomy. The role of US in breast carcinomas with literature review was discussed in this presentation.
