In general, anxiety is a sensation which feeling of fear because of the unknown. Dental anxiety is a common type of anxiety which has a negative effect on both oral and general health of individuals. In our study was aimed to determine pretreatment the state-trait anxiety levels and to compare current socio-demographic status with satisfaction after treatment of the patients with endodontic treatment was not applied previously. 69 were male and 81 female of the 150 patients with root-canal treatment planned were invited to participate in this study. After the recording general characteristics of the patients (age, gender, education level), Spielberger "State-Trait Anxiety Inventory" (STAI) questionnaire, can measure state and trait anxiety values, was administered to the patients. Then the standard root canal treatment was performed in all patients. After treatment, Visual Analog Patient Satisfaction Scale (VAPSS) was applied. After treatment satisfaction of the patients with situational anxious was detected high level. The relationship between age, gender and education level with state anxiety, trait anxiety and post-treatment VAPSS score, correlation coefficients and statistical significance were examined using Spearman's test.Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test were used to investigate for the significant differences within groups. Between the age groups, the 45-60 age group was (p=0,007); between the gender groups, the women were (p=0,001); between the education level of the group, high school or equivalent levels was (p<0,001) identified more anxious, significantly. Endodontic treatment increases the anxiety level of patients. In this respect, there is a need for comprehensive and detailed research which is attuned to culturally.
